August's Finds

REFRIGERATED ITEMS (Netherlands)

We took a trip to the Netherlands and to Belgium, since we had a week off from school, so these are a bit of a deviation from the typical French finds. I thought the stroopwaffel yogurt looked interesting, especially given that it was packaged in what I would usually associate with milk, cream, or buttermilk. And of course, you have to have a Beyond Meatless Schnitzel!

CHEESES (France)

Secret cheese??? Turns out it was a cheese made with a mix of cow, goat, and sheep's milks. Maybe they just couldn't think of a good name for it, haha. Still yummy though! And another one of my favorite cheeses - Sainte-Maure de Touraine (PDO cheese). It is a ripened goat's cheese that is covered in ash. It sounds a bit strange, but it is fantastic!

KITCHEN GOODS (Netherlands)

We found a kitchen goods store while exploring The Hauge : Oldenhof. They have the coolest things : A bundt cake pan that looks like an octopus, a little gnome cheese knife (that I was so close to buying) and fun towels!

They also had these food-shaped plates and bowls. I always enjoy it when people have fun with kitchen ware!

And the perfect gift for anyone in your life: a baseball bat pepper mill! It's dual use!

VACATIONS?? (France)

Here, I stumbled across an interesting find. You can purchase weekend (or longer) getaways as a gift for someone. I thought this was a fascinating concept, as I had never seen anything like it in the US before. A fun idea for people who enjoy experiences over physical gifts!
